Our Breeding Goals

Are to produce a fine fleeced animal shearing a good weight of usable fleece. We use AGE and other measurable traits to monitor our herd, internally and to benchmark against the National Herd.

We aim for 3.5 to 4.5 kgs on our breeding females and on our breeding males we are looking for 4.5 to 6kgs with a micron of 24 on adult animals. Young stock we are looking for a microns of under 20 on first fleeces. Many now are coming in at 16 to 18 micron.

We are stud breeders and have a small herd, as such every animal has to contribute to the herd averages. We breed predominantly White & Light fawn but also have a number of coloured animals. We believe no good alpaca is a bad colour.

We believe the future of the alpaca industry is in it diversity, in that there are niches for everyone. Why not talk with us and let us help you set up your alpaca venture.
